About
In 1902, the Hukselskapet, which ran ferry traffic between Kristiania and Bygdøy, built the first building here. The Royal Yacht Club Kristiania, KYY, rented the house from 1902. In 1906, the Royal Norwegian Sailing Association bought the building, and it was extended several times in the years that followed. On 5 September 1929, the house burned to the ground. Following the fire, an architectural competition was held for a new building. The competition was won by architects Andreas Bjercke and Georg Elliassen. The Queen reopened in May 1931.
